Tim’s 50th European Extravaganza 🎂🌍🍺
June – August 2024 · Dubai → Dublin → Bangor → Munich → Germany → Amsterdam → Berlin → London · 50 years young
Tim turned 50 and decided a trip to the pub wasn’t enough. Flying via Dubai, across to Dublin and up to Bangor to celebrate with family and friends, then into Munich to pick up a Hymer campervan for the summer. North Germany, the Alps, Bavaria, Amsterdam, and Berlin (the highlight of the whole trip). Took the Eurostar back to London, caught up with Tina and Iain, visited the Chelsea Pensioners at the Royal Hospital Chelsea, and then home to Sydney. Beer was consumed. Mountains were climbed. Hey, you don’t turn 50 every day.

🚐 The Hymer MLT 580 4×4
For Tim’s 50th we rented a Hymer MLT 580 4×4 on a Mercedes Sprinter chassis from Freistadt Rent in Sulzemoos, just outside Munich. 40 nights of freedom — picked it up in June 2023 and drove through the Alps, Italian Lakes, the South of France, Spain, Bordeaux, Champagne, Belgium, Germany, Berlin, Amsterdam, and back to Munich. Over 8,500km of European roads, sleeping wherever we parked up.
