From Belfast to the Bush
Originally from Northern Ireland, where I perfected the art of enjoying a good drink and a bit of craic. Life took a wild and wonderful turn when I met Jody, a sunshine-loving Aussie, during a stint in London. One whirlwind romance later, we found ourselves starting a brand new chapter Down Under.
We spent 10 years soaking up the Sydney sun, building a life we love. But something kept tugging at us… the open road, the wild outback, the coastlines we hadn’t yet seen. We were all set to move back to Europe. And then we changed our minds. Why leave when we haven’t seen it all yet?

On July 4th 2018 we rolled out of Sydney in a brand new Winnebago Bondi 2S and drove 30,000km anticlockwise around Australia. Whether you’re dreaming of doing your own lap, love a good road trip yarn, or just fancy tagging along virtually, grab a cold one and join us on the ride of a lifetime! 🍺🌏

The Van That Carried Our Dreams Around Australia
Named after Bondi Beach, and she lived up to the name. This wonderful vehicle was our home on wheels for 9 months, while we completed the full lap of Australia. 30,000km from red dirt tracks in the Kimberley to turquoise waters along the Coral Coast. She never let us down.
Every scratch, every sunset watched from her doors, every cold one cracked in her shade. Memories we’ll carry forever.
Tim always wanted a Mercedes. He just didn’t picture it being a van. But honestly? Best Mercedes he could have bought.
The Winnebago Bondi 2S is built on a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter chassis, 2.0L turbo diesel, 170hp, 9-speed auto. The same platform trusted by tradies and overlanders worldwide. Rock solid on bitumen and dirt alike, and 30,000km later, not a single breakdown. That’s a Mercedes for you.
Ours was the convertible lounge layout, not the fixed-bed version. By day a proper lounge and kitchen; by night the lounge flips into a queen bed. Compact, clever, and everything you need: 3-burner gas hob, 173L fridge, 25L microwave, hot water, shower, toilet, 200W solar, 4m awning, reverse-cycle A/C, and a 22“ TV for the odd rainy afternoon.
